About:

Chris has been involved in the rehabilitation and exercise science field since starting his educational career at Florida State. In his Freshman year, he became an ACSM certified personal trainer and led many fitness and conditioning programs for students and staff at the university. He also began his Physical Therapy career working as a student tech at the Florida State PT clinic, where he assisted in the treatment of high-level college athletes as well as members of the community. Initially, Chris had planned to further his career in the research world of academia, but it was here that he found his niche in treatment and providing high-quality care to patients in a face-to-face environment.

Chris decided to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist and attended the University of Florida, graduating in 2019 with his DPT. In addition to learning from some of the leading research experts in the field, he had the unique opportunity to work as the on-site therapist for the UF Navy ROTC program. This allowed him to hone his assessment and treatment skills, as working with the military requires a large degree of adaptability to provide efficient care. Chris also has his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA, and is well-versed in programming for high-level athletics and sport.

Chris joined the SRS team in June of 2019 after finishing his terminal internship and studying for his boards in Washington State. He has enjoyed growing both as a clinician and member of the north Seattle community over the past years, and has integrated himself with various other local groups and organizations.

Outstanding physical therapy care after a serious knee injury that required surgery. 3 months after Chris was able to get me back to Crossfit and surfing and slowly ramping my life back to normal. Highly recommend them for the most serious and difficult rehabs.

I very much appreciated being able to work with Chris C., Cheyenne, and Cierra at SRS for my ACL repair and bike fitting. Chris was my primary PT there, and he did a fantastic job, listened to my feedback, and spent a lot of time crafting an appropriate care/exercise plan for me. I would 100% recommend working with him not only for the kinds of issues I had but for any rehab needs, based on his thorough knowledge, effective approach, and excellent bedside manner.

I can’t stop thinking about the physical therapy session I had the other day with Chris Cheek, PT, DPT, CSCS, because it was PURE MAGIC. I hobbled into the clinic hunched over in pain and, after I did some stretching exercises, Chris got down to business with me on the table. Between the electric Massage Gun, a “you-never-want-it-to-end” muscle-relaxing massage, and the Grand Finale (some kind of heaven-sent pressure applied with a strap around my thigh), Chris managed to do what no epidurals or drugs had done: HE TOOK AWAY MY PAIN! When I got off the table and walked, I was in total shock. It’d been a long time since I wasn’t acutely aware of the aching, throbbing, stabbing nightmare of a back that was aging me exponentially.

He is not only incredibly skilled but is a really interesting guy with a great personality. In fact, everyone who works here is welcoming and supportive. All of the therapists remain focused on their clients yet manage to share a laugh or two in this chill space. I never thought I’d look forward to physical therapy. I highly recommend this clinic
