What conditions can physical therapy help treat?

How soon will I see results from physical therapy?
The timeline varies depending on the condition and severity, but many patients start seeing improvements within a few sessions. Your therapist will adjust your treatment based on progress.
Is physical therapy painful?
Physical therapy is generally designed to reduce pain, but some discomfort may occur as part of the healing process. Your therapist will ensure you’re comfortable and adjust treatments as needed.
What should I bring to a bike fitting session?
Bring your bike, cycling shoes, and any accessories you regularly use, such as pedals or saddles. This helps the therapist make accurate adjustments for your comfort and performance.
What is a running gait analysis?
A running gait analysis assesses your running technique, including stride, cadence, and foot strike, to improve performance and reduce injury risk. It’s ideal for recreational and competitive runners.
What is dry needling, and how does it work?
Dry needling involves inserting thin needles into trigger points or tight muscles to release tension and relieve pain. It’s commonly used to treat musculoskeletal issues like back pain and sports injuries.
Is dry needling painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during dry needling, with some feeling a slight twitch in the muscle. The therapist ensures the process is as comfortable as possible.
How many dry needling sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies based on the severity of your condition. Your therapist will assess your progress and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
How do I know if you accept my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans. To verify your coverage, please contact us before your first appointment to review your benefit information over the phone. We have insurance benefit verification specialists on staff that are happy to answer your insurance questions.
What is an Individualized Plan of Care?
We make sure each patient at Seattle Rehab Specialists receives a personalized plan of care (POC) tailored to your specific needs. Your treatment plan will be designed by your physical therapist based on your personal goals and current condition.
When should I arrive for my first appointment?
We ask that all patients arrive at least 15-20 minutes before your first appointment to review insurance benefits and complete any remaining paperwork. Any patients arriving late to their appointment will be asked to stay after their evaluation to complete paperwork before scheduling out.
Can I schedule an appointment through ZocDoc?
Yes, you can! We have appointments available for all of our therapists at www.zocdoc.com. Please be aware that appointments listed on ZocDoc are for initial evaluations only. Any follow-up appointments should be made directly with our office at 206-524-4977.
Do I need to fill out forms for my first visit?
Yes, we require intake forms for all new patients which must be completed before your initial evaluation at Seattle Rehab Specialists. These forms will be emailed directly to you once the appointment has been scheduled. If you are not able to complete the paperwork beforehand, please show up an extra 15-20 minutes before your appointment start time to complete it here in the office.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your valid Government ID card or driver’s license, insurance card or electronic copy, physicians’ referral if one is required, and any additional or relevant medical documentation such as X-Rays or MRIs.
When is the clinic open?
We are open Monday through Thursday from 7AM to 7PM, and Fridays from 7AM to 2PM.
What is the clinic address and location?
We are located at 6108 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115. We are in between 61st and 62nd street on Roosevelt Way. Our office is also located 5 blocks south of Roosevelt Light Rail station.
Do I have a choice in which therapist I see?
Yes, you can choose your preferred therapist when scheduling your appointment. Please note, our scheduling team considers what type of injury you are recovering from and pairing you with the therapist that most the makes sense for your case. Regardless of this, you have the choice of which therapist you would prefer to see.
Do I need a referral/prescription from my doctor?
Each insurance plan has specific requirements that may include requiring a require a referral for treatment by a specialist. Most insurance plans in Washington state do not require a referral as Washington is a Direct Access state, but our insurance benefit specialists will verify your benefits before your first appointment to confirm if a referral or prescription is indeed required for your first appointment.
What will be the frequency/duration of treatment?
Each treatment plan is individualized. Your physical therapist will assess your condition at the time of your initial evaluation to determine the state of your condition, and what type of treatment schedule would be needed to get you back to full activity. Typically, PT sessions occur 1-2 times per week for a couple weeks with a slow and gradual reduction in visits and frequency as you recover.
Where can I access my exercises?
We use the Keet Health portal at http://patient.keethealthapp.com/login for all current and new patients to access their personalized home exercise routine. Access to the Keet Health portal is activated upon completion of your initial evaluation. If you are a current patient and are having trouble logging into Keet to access your exercises, please contact our office at 206-524-4977 for password reset, registration information, and general Keet Health questions.
Do I need authorization for treatment through my insurance?
Some insurance plans in Washington require authorization for physical therapy. Our insurance benefit verification specialists will verify if your specific plan requires authorization. If your insurance does indeed require it, our onsite authorization team will personally handle the authorization request while working alongside your physical therapist to ensure we maximize the number of visits allowed per authorization.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for any appointments that require cancellation or rescheduling. If you need to cancel and it’s less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, please note that a cancellation fee may be assessed to your account. If you have additional questions regarding our office cancellation policy, please contact us at 206-524-4977.
How much does a treatment session cost?
The cost of treatment varies based on your insurance plan. We will provide an estimate of costs of services after verifying your benefits. That information will be available to you at your first appointment. If you require additional clarification on the costs of services through your plan, please call the member services number on the back of your insurance card.
Is this clinic in network with my insurance?
We are in-network with most major insurance plans provided in Washington State. Please contact our office at 206-524-4977 to confirm if we are in network with your specific plan.
What do Deductible, Copay, Coinsurance, and Out of Pocket mean?
Deductible pertains to the amount you must pay out of pocket before insurance covers the majority of costs for medical services.
Copay is a fixed fee you pay for each visit. This may vary depending on the type of therapist or provider you are seeing.
Coinsurance is the percentage of costs you share with your insurance after meeting the full amount of your deductible.
Out of Pocket Maximum refers to the amount you will pay for medical services before your insurance covers all remaining care at 100%.
What are my Healthcare Privacy Rights?
We comply with all state and federal HIPAA regulations to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. You can request a copy of our privacy practices at any time.
Can I bring my dog to my appointment?
At this time, only service animals are permitted in the clinic. Please contact us if you have a service animal and require accommodation for their participation in your care.
Should my family or partner come with me to my appointments?
You are welcome to bring a family member for encouragement and support to your appointments. For pediatric patients, we encourage patients to attend each session. We also encourage our Medicare patients to bring a care giver or partner with them to the last appointment for training in assistance with the home exercise program.
My child needs PT, do I need to accompany them?
Yes, any child under 18 requires a parent or guardian to accompany them to their appointments. The initial evaluation includes the completion of paperwork that requires the signature and authorization of the parent or guardian.
